Bob graduated from Sandoval High School. He served in the
Army Air Corps during WW2, flying in B-17 bombers in the ETO.
He used the GI bill to attend Mortuary School in St. Louis
MO. He married Marjorie Jane DeLay and started his funeral
service career at Carlyle IL with the Zieren-Day Funeral Home.
He moved back to Sandoval in 1981. Bob also served as a Clinton
county Deputy Coroner for 20 years. He also served as Chairman
of the Industrial Committee & President of the Business
Men's Association in Carlyle for several years. He is a member
of the Carlyle Methodist Church, a Life Member of the Carlyle
V.F.W., American Legion, Carlyle Masonic Lodge, Centralia Shrine
Club and an Odd fellow member in Carlyle. He is also and a
member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the
Illinois Funeral Directors Association.
Dennis D. Day & wife Jessie
Dennis graduated form Southern Illinois Mortuary School in 1985. He began his career in rehabilitation in Clinton County and later worked for Illinois Power Company. He made his career change and became a full time funeral director in 1985. He has served as the Mayor of Dalton City and was a board member of the LaSalle County Red Cross. Dennis served the Patoka Fire Department for 15 years and was Fire Chief for 11 years. Dennis has also been a Patoka City Councilman, Sandoval Fire District Trustee.He has served on the Board of Directors and held the office of Treasurer for the Sandoval Shalom Committee. He is an active member of the Patoka United Methodist Church, Patoka Masonic Lodge No 613 and Centalia Shrine Club. Dennis is a member of the Southern Illinois Network Association in Centralia and the Shawnee Trail Conservancy of Southern Illinois. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Illinois Funeral Directors Association and Order of the Golden Rule Funeral Association.
Tom & Traci Macz
Tom & Traci graduated in 2004 from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale Mortuary School. After graduating, they served their apprenticeship at Hurley Funeral in Petersburg & Mason City, IL. October of 2005, they moved to Tom’s hometown of Watseka, IL to work for Knapp Funeral Homes, Inc. February of 2011, they moved to Traci’s hometown of Sandoval to begin working for Day Funeral Homes. They attend Orchardville Church in Centralia, and are actively involved in many groups and organizations in the community.
